Safe Harbour Amsterdam

Safe Harbour Amsterdam is a feature film based on experience in Amsterdam and other European cities. In the late 60s and early 70s many artists, musicians and guys on the run from the law flocked to Amsterdam chasing dreams that had eluded them at home.

The film won “Best Cast” and “Best Feature” in a 2018 Williamsburg film festival and it’s currently seeking distribution.

Also: In addition to being a talented writer, director, actor, and man who helped me hone the Russian accent, Jack Luceno also helped Andy Kaufman make his first television show in college. Below is an image from Bob Zmuda’s book Andy Kaufman Revealed! (with Jack Luceno holding a child on the left). How cool is that?!

  1. HI Casey Hope all’s well with you. I didn’t realize you had made up this nice page on the film and with some bits on me. Very nice of you and I hope it has been helpful to you in some way. If you get back to NYC please get in touch! By the way…am a bit freaked out as I noticed when I googled Safe Harbour there was a link along with the trailer and perhaps trailer again of my whole film at :96 minutes. I am pretty sure it was only able to be played by me on my computer. Never the less…if it wee able to be publically viewed that would be very bad for future festivals, etc I think it came from it’s withoutabox.com link I changed the password, etc but I would like to get it off google. Any ideas? Thanks Jack

  2. Jack Luceno, here. CASEY PLAINSMITH…When I saw his pic online I knew and hoped I’d be able to get him to play an important and amusing scene! I got lucky! He played a shifty Russian x pat living in Amsterdam using his sly charm and looks to lure a pre selected out of luck English hash smuggler into a scheme of his own. He was perfect. “In the most flattering sense”. Book that Casey!
